Course Overview

BCAB Paddlesport Instructor qualification is for people whose focus of work is delivering paddlesports taster/starter sessions within clubs, centres or other organisations. The qualification is for multi-craft sessions and is not discipline specific, but you will be assessed from your chosen craft (canoe, closed cockpit kayak, sit on top or SUP).

This combined training and assessment course will enable you to run games and activities in a very sheltered environment, to support learning and inspire adventure and exploration for new paddlers in stable craft.

You will be assessed on the following:

• Professional standards

• Personal paddling

• Rescues

Prerequisites for the course

• Be over the age of 14 (candidates under 18 years of age should check the suitability of the course with a tutor before attendance.)

• Become a member of Paddle UK

• Attended a BCAB Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course

• Register for the Paddlesport Instructor course with Paddle UK (£46.80)

• Complete the SKapades booking form in full

• Pay in full
